Causses and Throats

SLocated at the north of the Languedocien plain, the area of Causses and the Throats forms a relatively high geological unit which, 170 million years ago was still under the sea level. From where the sedimentary rock which composes it: limestone sensitive to erosion and in particular,that of water.
The Tarn, Jonte and Dourbie thus dug narrow broken valleys there to separate from North in the South, four large causses: Sauveterre, Méjean, the Black Causse and Larzac.
